Twelfth night. It's time to take the tinsel and the trees down, folks - but before you do, here's a last dose of festive cheer from 5305LA.
2015 is a big year for us. 'Sir Lamiel' turns 90 years old in June, and we will be 'celebrating' by withdrawing the loco for another overhaul for main line operation.
D6535 needs electrical, mechanical and cosmetic work to bring it up to the standards we aspire to.
D123 will remain busy earning its keep at the GCR; 70013 and 45305 are both being prepared for another season on the main line and elsewhere, and we are working hard to secure more work for the 'Five' in particular.
5305LA has run since 1969 as a voluntary organisation, and our endeavours rely on people giving a little (or a lot!) of their time and money to make things happen. This year we would like to encourage all our supporters to come and give volunteering a go - and we will be announcing details very soon of a special 'open day' for prospective volunteers.
Opportunities exist for people of all ages and backgrounds, and so our youngest member has made a little video to inspire you...
