After a short hiatus, we're back!
Some of our volunteers can claim over forty years of service to 5305LA and its predecessor, HLPG. Very many can claim a decade or more. Naturally, as we each journey through life, with the pressures of work and family, the amount of time we can dedicate to our hobby fluctuates, and with gratitude from us all to those who have gone before, the 'communications baton' has passed to professional railwayman and 5305LA support crew member, Tom Jones, who is taking a break from the 'day job' to parent his young family. Andy Carter continues to provide his expertise for our website.
2014 thus begins with fresh impetus and ambition, particularly in building our presence and audience on social media - and we invite you to be part of it!
Our Facebook page - found at Facebook.com/5305LA - has been rejuvenated and along with this website now carries events for all our locomotives' impending railtours. Please 'like' this page and 'share' it with your friends, and we look forward to interacting with you, and reaching even more people by this means.

We have some exciting plans for the coming year, which will become apparent in due course. Main line bookings are coming in for the 'Five' and 'Cromwell', both of which are undergoing their annual valve and piston exams, 'Sir Lamiel' is in traffic at Loughborough, as is D123, and special effort this week is going into bringing D6535 back for the Great Central Railway's diesel gala.
Coming full circle, all of these things continue to rely on the support of our volunteers and donors, and as such we will always be pleased to welcome new members, in whatever season of life they find themselves, and in what promises to be an exciting year for 5305 Locomotive Association.
