5305 Locomotive Association 'Black Five' No. 45305 returned to the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway after its truncated main line season based at Crewe Heritage Centre. The locomotive and its support coach moved by rail on Thursday 19th September via the West Coast Main Line, Carnforth and Hellifield, that route being chosen in order to ensure that the 'Five' had its chimney facing Oxenhope on arrival at Keighley.
45305 will remain on the KWVR throughout the autumn and into the winter and is expected to get regular work on service trains there. In addition it is booked to appear at the KWVR Gala from the 11th to the 13th October.
Meanwhile at Southall, 70013 Oliver Cromwell has been receiving some maintenance work and has undergone a boiler washout ready for its next series of main line charters.
