Frozen Assets
If you are reading this anywhere in Britain you will be aware of the weather we’ve been having this month (for our international readers I’ll just say that it’s been uncharacteristically cold and snowy – much colder than we normally get at this time of year i.e. I won’t say any of the many uncomplimentary things I could say about the inconvenience and disruption that the snow has caused.)
The weather has just claimed another victim: we received this email into 5305la Webquarters today: “45305 will not be going to Southall and will not take up its booked work on the 21st and 22nd December. The weather has been the cause of this. Despite all efforts to get the loco ready it was completely frozen up this morning (Sunday) and declared a failure.”
Despite our best frost-protection measures, the support crew have been battling the cold and have finally had to throw in the towel. Huge thanks to the support crew who fought so hard against the weather, I hope they all get home safely.
