Still at the Doctors but On the Mend
We received this email at 5305la Webquarters earlier today: “Any update please on Ollie Cromwell - my 4 year old grandson is very worried about her as it was after the Bury St. Eds. trip in May that the problems were found - he still thinks it was his fault!! Thanks - if only to put his little mind at rest”
The title of this post probably says it all – basically the NRM’s No. 70013 ‘Oliver Cromwell’ is still at Crewe receiving attention to the firebox problems which resulted in her withdrawal from traffic earlier this year. Tom Tighe, our Chairman & CME has been keeping in regular contact with the team at LNWR, Crewe and the work is progressing. We still hope to get the engine back into traffic by the end of the month, with a view to her taking up some of her booked work before the end of the year.
I hope that puts everyone’s minds at rest, not least the grandson, we don’t think it was him!!! Please don’t let problems like that put you off coming on steam railtours.
