More progress on the Five today is that Jim has been sorting out the frame stretchers. While yesterday Dick, Steve, Jake and Keith did various welding and painting jobs, thanks for your efforts guys! You see, while you aren’t looking lots of small jobs keep being done on the Black ‘Un, for instance Geoff Morris and Martyn Fake spent most of a day inside the tender this week, sorting out the water valves and earning the “Grand Order of the Goldfish” for being in a tank!
And two otherwise unsung heroes are Jim and Spike who recently bent all the tubing ready for the new superheater elements for 30777 Sir Lamiel. A job which entailed them spending many hours grovelling in the dirt at the far end of the site near the canal bridge, they thought that no one knew about their efforts!
