I’m not sure whether the title of this news article refers mostly to the fact that 30777 “Sir Lamiel” arrived back at Loughborough yesterday, or if it refers to the hard work by the support coach team which means that the lino is now down in the corridor and they are busy eyeing up the vestibules as a suitable project for Wednesday evening. Either way it’s good news: Lamiel coming back to the GCR means that she will be ‘on show’ to the visitors of the Great Central Railway, the engineering team will be able to get on with a number of minor fettling jobs when she isn’t earning her keep hauling trains from Loughborough to Leicester North, plus she will be in place to star in the forthcoming GCR Winter Steam Gala (Friday 30th Jan to Sunday 1st Feb 2009) , and the installation of the lino means that our travelling accommodation for railtours is that much closer to completion.
Well done lads!
