Locomotives - 70013 Oliver Cromwell

In December 2008, the prestigious 'John Coiley' award for locomotive preservation was awarded for the restoration of 70013, "Oliver Cromwell" by the Heritage Railway Association.
After spending the winter on the GCR, Cromwell is now undertaking a series of main line railtours for a variety of sponsors - See the events page for details of the tours and sponsors - why not treat yourself or a friend to a trip with this iconic locomotive.
In 2008 70013 travelled approximately 4097 main line miles (including light engine & ecs movements), and approximately 11,109 in 2009 (see "News a Hive of Activity)

Locomotive History
Allocations
Originally allocated to Norwich - Thorpe Depot, 70013 was later allocated to Carlisle
Kingmoor.
Class
Class 7MT.
Owner
National Railway Museum.
Maintained and operated by the 5305 Locomotive Association
Builder
Built at Crewe Works and completed in May 1951.
Withdrawal
On withdrawal in 1968, 70013 moved to Bressingham Steam & Gardens on 13th August
1968.
In Preservation
Oliver Cromwell was a star visitor to the 2004 NRM Railfest event, then moved to
the Great Central Railway in Loughborough for overhaul and return to the main line.
